From Albany, NY
# | Peak | Date Summitted | Comments |
---|---|---|---|
#1 | Blue Mountain | Apr 30, 2016 | I ate so many bugs on this hike. It was very steep but had beautiful views from the top |
#2 | Buck Mountain | Oct 15, 2017 | Did this hike on a pretty cloudy day. It was very wet and at one point actually lost my shoe in some mud but overall a beautiful hike |
#3 | Black Mountain | Apr 30, 2019 | Did this one on a slightly rainy day. I remember being creeped out by the sound of the windmill on top because we couldn't see it through the fog. The clouds cleared so we were able to get nice views! |
#4 | Fivemile Mountain | Jun 22, 2019 | This was a random offshoot. We had to scramble to the top of this one off the trail in the middle of the tongue range. Thank goodness we had a GPS or we might never have found it |
#5 | Owls Head | Oct 20, 2019 | This hike was fairly flat most of the way but got very steep towards the top. I had a hard time at one point because I had to rock climb but the views were absolutely worth it. One of my favorite hikes! |
#6 | Cat Mountain | Oct 28, 2019 | Hiked this one from Thomas. I really enjoyed the hike between the two and the view was awesome |
#7 | Chimney Mountain | May 02, 2020 | This hike was super steep at the top and I had a hard time getting up it. The top was really cool with all the rocks at the top but it did make is difficult to see out unless you climbed on top of them but I felt really proud after making it to the top |
#8 | Saint Regis Mountain | May 23, 2020 | I loved everything about this hike and it one of my top 5 favorites. We were lucky the trail was dry the day we went so we didn't have much trouble, the views were absolutely gorgeous |
#9 | Blueberry Mountain | May 27, 2020 | I don't dislike many hikes but I can honestly say I hated almost everything about this. We did a walkthrough from Cascade/Porter and it was a gigantic mudslide to the Blueberry peak, then was incredibly steep the rest of the way down and was so thick and over run with branches. This trail needs serious work done. |
#10 | Poke-o-moonshine | May 29, 2020 | This was one of the last hikes we did after a week of hiking and going up all those stone steps almost killed me. The trail sign says 1.5 miles by my GPS clocked it longer. The view from this peak was incredible and well worth the hike up! |
#11 | Vanderwhacker | Jun 21, 2020 | This trail could use some work, especially in the beginning and the road to get to the trail head was a nightmare. It was a good thing we read a review ahead of time and brought a vehicle that could actually make the trek because it was not a pleasant drive |
#12 | Hadley Mountain | Aug 14, 2020 | Almost straight up, there are no flat parts but it is very short. There was a bear wandering around the day we were there but nothing bad happened and it was beautiful at the top! There were so many people on this trail so I'm glad I went early in the morning so we only saw them on the hike out |
#13 | Wakely Mountain | Aug 23, 2020 | There was a lot of trash at the trail head and at the top of this mountain and to be honest, it was absolutely disgusting. There was toilet paper and literal human poop all over the top near the cabin and it ruined this hike entirely for me |
#14 | Goodnow Mountain | Sep 20, 2020 | This was easy compared to some of the other hikes on this list but I really enjoyed it. It was a good hike to get back into the swing of hiking after not hiking for almost a month. Very easy to navigate and pretty much impossible to get lost. |
#15 | Hurricane Mountain | Oct 04, 2020 | Took the northern trail by good lord, what a view. This hike has cracked my top five favorite hikes of all time. I loved every part of this trail and the views were absolutely spectacular. I'm definately coming back with others for this hike, absolutely loved it |
#16 | Mt. Adams | Oct 08, 2020 | This was an incredibly steep hike but well worth the views at the top. There were a couple times where I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get back down because of the bald rock faces paired with water coming down them. We took our time and went slow so we had little issue aside from the trail itself being so steep. It's the next day and I'm really sore but this was an epic last hike for my fire tower challenge. I had a lot of motivation to finish! |
#17 | Flume Knob | May 29, 2021 | Did this in conjunction with Bear Den. It had nice views at the top but it was definitely a rough hike |
#18 | Ampersand Mountain | Jun 12, 2021 | This is hands down one of my all time favorite hikes. The part directly below the peak was a little tricky especially since I'm short but it was well worth the gorgeous views |
#19 | Moxham Mountain | Aug 08, 2021 | I loved everything about this trail |
#20 | Pitchoff Mountain | Sep 11, 2021 | Had a few difficult spots and no view at the top so this one wasn't really satisfying but it was worth it to get balanced boulders with it |
#21 | Catamount Mountain | Sep 25, 2021 | Had to go back for this one twice because I hurt myself right below the chimney. It's very technical and difficult but the views were nice. |
#22 | Treadway Mountain | Oct 31, 2021 | Pretty long a overall a beautiful trail. It had a little bit of everything going for it. A walk through the forest, some rock scrambles and the view over to Pharoah was breathtaking. It was the perfect end of season hike on a beautiful sunny day. It could use some better trail marking towards the top but a wonderful hike! |
#23 | Owls Head Lookout | Apr 23, 2022 | There was a little bit of ice on the top but I loved this hike. The hike itself was unique and the view is incredible |
#24 | Loon Lake Mountain | May 14, 2022 | Did this in mid may. We were swarmed by mosquitoes and black flies which made this hike difficult. Other than that, the hike itself was nice |
#25 | Jay Mountain | Jun 04, 2022 | A lot of ups and downs but it seemed like almost endless gorgeous views. There were a few tough spots |
#26 | Lyon Mountain | Jun 11, 2022 | I loved everything about this hike. It was a nice gradual trail with a gorgeous view from the top. |
#27 | Pharaoh Mountain | Jun 18, 2022 | Honestly went on the perfect day and thank goodness. This is along hike but the views were amazing. Thank goodness we camped in and stayed the night because I'm not sure I could have done this entire hike in one day. Very long but worth the effort. The north side trail could use a little work but overall a good hike |
#28 | Round Mountain | Jul 17, 2022 | This one was my finisher and was absolutely gorgeous!! |
#29 | Noonmark Mountain | Jul 17, 2022 | The view from this one was spectacular but not going to lie, it was incredibly steep and almost killed me lol |
